Gardens with a purpose
Allow us to come up with an overall plan for the garden space you have and then we will take that plan to your participants to allow them to finalize what will be planted where. We empower your group to help with all steps of the garden process, allowing a sense of agency, pride, and responsibility in the project. Once the project is planted we will work with your group to help troubleshoot, maintain, and harvest if needed.
A Specialty Garden can be any size, here are a few ideas of what can be planned and planted with a group.
A wildlife garden suitable for birds, pollinators, and small wild creatures.
A vegetable garden that produces easy and plentiful vegetables for participants to enjoy.
Flowering planters and attractive landscaping that can be enjoyed by all.
A sensory garden full of aromatic herbs and different textures and colors.
Whether you have pots, raised beds, or just an open spot to plant we will come help you set up, learn to care for, and learn to use vegetables and herbs from the garden. Weekly group sessions over 1 month allows hands-on experiential learning with residents and participants. Adaptable instruction and activities for anyone to be able to participate in some way in growing in the garden.
Participants help plan, plant seeds and plants, water and care for plants, harvest ripe vegetables, and learn ideas for recipes to use with their vegetables.
Four 75 minute sessions including any plants, seeds, and handouts -$500
Available any time of year (what can be grown may depend on time of year)
